In his first starring role, Steve McQueen plays a typical oversexed, car-lovin' highschooler who can't get anyone to believe his story about a huge meteor, which crashes to earth and begins exuding a pink, gooey substance. Affixing itself to the body of an old man, the "blob" begins parasitically sucking the life out of several unfortunate humans, growing to an enormous size. Problem is, the disappearances of the victims can all be explained (one is supposed to be out of town, another is attending a convention), so the cops still won't believe McQueen or his girlfriend Aneta Corsaut (the future Helen Crump of The Andy Griffith Show). Rallying his teen pals, McQueen finally manages to get the adults' attention-but by now, the Blob is consuming entire city blocks. In 1972, the sequel Beware the Blob followed. ~ Hal Erickson, RoviIf You Like this movie you can streaming The Blob movie without downloading HERE

Review For Movie The Blob
It's exuberant and extraordinary, and just nasty enough.Rob Humanick-Suite101.com
The Blob is one of those B-movies that will always inhabit a warm little nook in the affections of SF fans but, truth be told, it's never quite as fun as it should be.

A surprisingly smart piece of 50′s camp.
Gabe Leibowitz-eCinemaCenter.com
Bad, but never painfully so . . .

Who doesn't love a mutant Jell-O movie?
Rob Vaux-Flipside Movie Emporium
One of the very finest entries in a generally dismissed genre.
Scott Weinberg-eFilmCritic.com
The Blob is an inane but entertaining 1950s horror cult-film favorite that was made for a mere $240,000.
Dennis Schwartz-Ozus' World Movie Reviews
...if a vote were taken for the silliest sci-fi horror movie ever made, the original 1958 version of "The Blob" would come out pretty high on the list.
